oils+fats leverages boost from drinktec

oils+fats 2017, Europe’s only trade fair for the production and further processing of vegetable and animal oils and fats, will take place from September 11 to 15, 2017. What is special this year: it will be held for 5 days for the first time, alongside drinktec 2017, the World’s Leading Trade Fair for the Beverage and Liquid Food Industry. That is highly interesting, given that all visitors to oils+fats also have access to drinktec 2017 and its integrated exhibition area for wine technology SIMEI@drinktec with their admission ticket. That means they can leverage synergies, since beverage and liquid food producers often use similar technologies and packaging as in the oils and fats industry.

oils+fats is held alongside drinktec every four years. That combination reaps advantages for oils+fats and is also reflected in the figures for 2017. Around 50 exhibitors from 16 countries will occupy an area of 3,000 square meters. Visitors to the event naturally benefit from the wide range of exhibitors. The following companies have already announced some of their highlights in the run-up to the trade fair: Andreotti Impianti Spa, Camelina Company España, CMBITALY—Technology, Farmet a.s., Körting Hannover AG, Mectech Process Engineers Pvt. Ltd., Siemens AG and Solex Thermal Science. They will showcase their latest systems, components and aids relating to the production of edible oils, fats and lubricants—including raw materials and quality control solutions. Particular highlights are: Machines to improve glycerine distillation or ensure high-quality processing of oil seeds, new vacuum systems, products made from camelina oil, and digital systems that can rectify plant malfunctions with the aid of digital images. You can find more details on the exhibitors’ highlights at oils+fats 2017 online.

oils+fats 2017 offers additional value added for visitors in the shape of an extensive supporting program with top-flight experts to accompany the exhibition:

Food Safety Forum
oils+fats will devote a separate forum to the subject of food safety starting at 1:30 p.m. on September 14. The latest measures and analytical solutions for measuring, reducing and removing such contamination will also be presented. The forum’s goal is to create awareness for the challenges in the oils and fats industry and show what is already being done now and what can be expected in the near future. Represented on stage are:

  • Dr. Andreas Menzel, R&D Director, Cargill Global Edible Oil Solutions—Europe, on behalf of FEDIOL
  • Roddy Ramli, Senior Researcher, Malaysian Palm Oil Board (MPOB)
