From December 2 to 10, 2017 (December 1: Preview Day), hundreds of thousands of visitors and more than 500 exhibitors will celebrate the 50th Essen Motor Show. Shortly after the official registration deadline, the line-up is continuing to take shape: After Skoda, Ford-Werke, Peugeot and Renault have now also confirmed their participation in the performance festival amongst the worldwide automobile fairs. They will be joined by the tyre manufacturers Continental and Toyo Tires. Moreover, the Mercedes FanWorld will be represented at the Essen Motor Show in the year of AMG’s 50th anniversary. A large number of other manufacturers and associations will complete the ranks of attractive makes at Messe Essen.

Ralf Sawatzki, Head of Project for the Essen Motor Show, is pleased about the additional commitments made by many manufacturers: “At present, new inquiries from potential exhibitors are reaching us almost every day. Thus, there are good chances of further well-known names still being added in the coming months.” A large proportion of the exhibition area has already been allocated. Any potential latecomers should hurry up because the demand for booth areas at the Essen Motor Show is very high. The fair organisers have another reason for joy: The Essen Motor Show team recently secured the coveted THEO Award from the MAV publishing house in the Events category. The mark of distinction is regarded as the “Oscar” of the tuning sector.

ADAC and VDAT Use the 50th EMS as a Large Birthday Stage

This year, the General German Automobile Club (ADAC) and Messe Essen will celebrate the 30th birthday of the automobile club’s ideal sponsorship of the Essen Motor Show. In Hall 3, ADAC will simultaneously present a preview of its motorsports and young drivers programmes, including vehicles and drivers. Furthermore, the Association of Automobile Tuners (VDAT), also a longstanding partner of the Essen Motor Show, has a reason to celebrate this year: In 2017, VDAT is marking the 30th anniversary of its founding and will certainly also celebrate this on its booth in the Tuning Salon in Halls 10/11. The highlights awaiting fans and journalists there will include the new campaign vehicle of the TUNE IT! SAFE! initiative for safe and reputable tuning.

Just like their association, a large number of VDAT members have already confirmed their participation in the fair, most recently including the following companies: BBS, Borbet, RaceChip Chiptuning, SONAX and Wolf Racing Neuenstein. The participation of Heinrich Eibach, KW automotive and RONAL has been definite for quite a long time already. With Brock Alloy Wheels, Keskin Tuning and Spath Wheels, further specialists for rims and wheels will present themselves at the Essen Motor Show. Moreover, one of the world’s leading manufacturers of audio, navigation and multimedia systems for vehicles, Alpine Electronics, will await the visitors. The range offered by the specified exhibitors will be perfectly supplemented by the tuningXperience in Hall 1A: In the popular special show, private owners from all over Europe will display their often prize-winning vehicles on which the visitors will be able to see in the assembled condition a lot of the products offered at the fair.

US Car Fans Are Looking Forward to Shelby

It is the largest association of active drivers and motorsports fans anywhere in Europe: the German Sports Drivers Circle (DSK). As a partner of EMS, the association will expect its members and further visitors in Hall 6 which will also encompass the booths of racing series, racetracks and motorsports teams. In addition, one manufacturer of powerful racing and sports cars for novices and professionals, Radical, will present itself there – thus, there will be no obstacles to a successful career as a driver.

Fans of tuned US cars will also get their money’s worth at the Essen Motor Show: The famous tuning forge Shelby will be represented at the fair for the first time via its trading partner and manufacturer GU Autotrade. Carroll Shelby’s descendants are currently making names for themselves with the Shelby Ford F‑150 Super Snake. The power pickup with 750 bhp is equipped with the coveted badge with the Shelby serial number and Carroll Shelby’s signature. Even if he never managed to get to the Essen Motor Show during his lifetime, he has enjoyed the status of a legend amongst the fans until today as a famous racing driver and designer.
